For 500 hundred years the Finches have been famous through-out Norway for their fortune... and misfortune. Odin Finch buries the latest victims of the Family Curse: his wife Ingeborg and their newborn son Johann.
— The ViewMaster recount of Odin's story.

Ingeborg Finch was the wife of Odin Finch and the mother of Edie Finch and Johann Finch. Her family lived in Norway where she gave birth to her second and only son. She and her son died shortly after (possibly of childbirth). Before her death, Ingeborg became the maternal grandmother of Molly Finch and the mother-in-law of Sven Finch (who took Edie's surname) when he married her first and only daughter, Edie, before her death in 1937.
